The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is pleased to partner with the Office of the Provost to provide a series of summer workshops to prepare faculty to apply for the national Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program through the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
The Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program awards $200,000 fellowships to support exceptional scholarship in the humanities and social sciences that address critical issues in our society.
The CCE workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon on May 23, June 8, and June 20.
Applications to participate in the summer workshop series in preparation for the Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program are open to all faculty. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on April 15, 2022, and applicants will receive notification of their acceptance by April 30, 2022.
Faculty who are selected to participate in and complete the summer workshop series will work to complete a research proposal for the fellowship and will receive a $250 stipend from the Office of the Provost.
The Office of the Provost will review proposals and select one junior and one senior scholar as nominees from Illinois State University for the Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program. Proposals will be evaluated based on originality, potential impact on the field, and plans to share findings with a broad audience.
