Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a National Day of Service to honor Dr. King's commitment and contributions to the Civil Rights Movement and social justice. Join the Center for Civic Engagement and people across the nation on as we serve our local community in Dr. King's memory.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is 'What are you doing for others?'"
Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day to serve their neighbors and communities.
The MLK Jr. Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.
We are excited for this year's MLK Jr. Day of Service Project! Join us on Friday, January 27 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Bone Student Center, in the Founders Suite. We will be making craft kits for the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal. No pre-registration is necessary; anyone interested in volunteering can simply join us in the Founders Suite. We hope to see you there!
